MAGNAT HUMIDOR OFFERS UNIQUE LOOK AND AUDIOPHILE SOUND

It does not come as a surprise that a Humidor contains precious things. However, in the case of the new Magnat Humidor, it holds highly sophisticated hifi components instead of cigars: The compact bookshelf speaker impressively demonstrates that outstanding sound does not necessarily need much space. What really is important are flawless development, carefully selected materials and components as well as years of experience in speaker development. Even at first glance the MDF housing, featuring a genuine cedar veneer and Champagne-coloured metal elements, shows the high quality of the Humidor. And when this speaker with a height of less than 26 centimetres starts to play – ideally in combination with a Magnat MR 780 receiver – it quickly becomes clear that its acoustical performance perfectly matches the elegant appearance.

Humidor: This word usually describes a special container, often in the form of an ornate wooden box, designed to keep precious cigars fresh and preserve their flavour for a long time. The Magnat Humidor does not contain cigars but the most brilliant, audiophile hifi sound. The new stereo speaker set from the Pulheim-based audio experts derives its looks from original Humidors and features an equally sophisticated sound: This high-end bookshelf speaker relies only on the finest components and exclusive Magnat technologies, resulting in an unrivalled acoustical experience delivered from an extremely compact cabinet. Its two-coloured genuine cedar veneer and the classy Champagne-coloured metal elements show even at the very first glance: This speaker provides pure audio of the highest quality.

Classy looks, outstanding acoustics
With its size of only 140 x 245 x 258 millimetres, the Magnat Humidor easily finds its place in any environment. Thanks to its classy looks, it is a true eye-catcher and adds to the character of any room. Its acoustical values perfectly match the initial optical impression: The Humidor was developed with the aid of a special laser-measurement tool called “Klippel” which helps to achieve a perfect combination of MDF-housing, drivers and internal electronics. The result can be heard loud and clear: Magnat Humidor plays music – no matter if Jazz, Classical, Rock or Pop – like a speaker of much larger size.

High-tech material composite
The unique look of the Humidor is based on careful design decisions. Its precise and powerful sound is the result of decades of development experience and exclusive Magnat technologies. The midrange driver for example features the famous Ceramic-Aluminium-Sandwich cone. This classy and sturdy material composite provides the perfect ratio of stiffness and inner dampening, leading to a very balanced audio reproduction throughout the whole frequency range. A silk dome tweeter with a wide bead for optimum sound emission takes care of the higher frequencies.

High-class components
In addition, the Humidor uses an amplitude- and phase-optimised frequency switch with high-class components as well as gold-plated and acryl-sealed connection terminals for high-end cables. This sophisticated composition of materials and components results in a compact bookshelf speaker with a frequency range of 34 to 50,000 Hertz and a power handling of 75 / 150 Watts (RMS / maximum). In other words: A speaker that combines a classy look with the most precise and powerful audio reproduction.

Outstanding team player
The Magnat Humidor is now available in stores and online at an MSRP of 799.00 euros per pair. Magnat wants to point out that neither whisky nor cigars are necessary to enjoy music with these speakers – but they will not harm the experience, either. A more serious recommendation comes from Magnat concerning a suitable receiver and CD-player to combine with the Humidor: While the bookshelf speakers will play very well together with any high-class stereo receiver, Magnat has thoroughly tested the combination of Humidor with the hybrid-valve-receiver MR 780 and the high-class CD player MCD 750. Many hours of real-life tests with these products have made it clear that this ensemble guarantees an outstanding acoustical experience. Magnat MR 780 and MCD 750 are available both online and in stores. Their MSRPs are 999.00 euros and 399.00 euros respectively.
